Carter had a good day. He finally woke up enough to eat at noon for the nurse. Stacy was able to nurse him at 2pm and again at 6pm, so he got a lot of nourishment today. The rest of the time he slept off his pain, because they never started him on the morphine infusion. He doesn't seem to need it, as he's been pleasant without any pain meds today.
His big brother, Ryker, came for another visit, which again lasted all of 5 minutes...long enough to get a photo. I'm sure they'll start bonding, or fighting, as soon as we get home.
Stacy was discharged today, so she's joining me at the Ronald McDonald house. It's nice to be together again. She's super tired after another long day, so we'll probably retire for the night. She's hoping to be able to manage her pain without getting the prescription meds, but mainly she's hoping her body gets back its natural rhythms so she can start feeling a little better.

Great family photo!
Wonderful family picture! Thanking the Lord with you for all the progress Stacey and Carter are making. Continuing to pray.
Aww, your first family picture with Carter! We love it! It was so difficult staying home tonight, but Steph is finally starting to feel better and eat a little. Give Carter a hug and kiss for us. Uncle Jon is anxious to meet you Carter, so we'll probably hit the road after church and head down to Philly tomorrow. We are so thankful Carter had a good day today! Hopefully he'll continue to have good days...and come home next week! Love you guys, Jon and Steph
Love your family picture. Ryker looks like he's not quite sure what to make of all this. I know what you are saying about pain meds Stacy, but don't push yourself too hard. If pain meds keep you comfortable, allowing a good night sleep, etc. use them...you know...the whole benefit versus burden thing. Love you, Ruth Ann & Jim
What a good picture. Carter looks much better. We will keep praying for everyone. I'm sure it will feel good to come home. Can't wait to hear that news. Take Care, Mary & Cap
Stacy you look wonderful. "My Ryan" said you look like a hospital visitor holding someone else's baby. We both agree the two of you make stinkin' cute babies! We will pray for healing (both mommy and baby) but especially for Carter's skin. Thank you for this blog, we enjoy reading and seeing your progress.
Everyone looks wonderful. Love Ryker's look on his face :)
Glad to hear things are getting better and that he is able to nurse. How wonderful for some rest for all of you :)
